Ray Bradbury, born in 1920 is the author of many different works, including novels, plays, short stories and screenplays.  Bradbury’s love for books started at a young age, contributing and developing his own love of writing. (raybradbury.com)

Fahrenheit 451 is one of Bradbury’s most well known pieces of literature. Many of his novels are science fiction and written as social criticism, or satire, generally about science and technology. This includes Fahrenheit 451 which Bradbury’s original inspiration for was hearing of book burnings during world war II. Having not continued on to college after graduating High School he made money by selling newspapers on the streets of L.A. and spent most of his time in libraries and writing his own stories and novels. (raybradbury.com) He has also received numerous awards for his work, including O. Henry Memorial Award, Benjamin Franklin Award, World Fantasy Award for Lifetime Achievement and the Grand Master Award from the Science Fiction Writers of America.
